What lies on the other side?
It is a question that has vexed humanity for ages.
Most of us have experienced the loss of a loved one, whether it’s a parent, sibling, dear friend, or even a child. Death is a part of life, but the question of what lies beyond this earthly existence remains a profound mystery. Where do our loved ones go when they leave us? Where will we go when our time is up? Is there a way for the departed to connect with those still living?
In August of last year, a Pew Research Center study explored Americans’ spiritual beliefs. The survey was called Many Americans report interacting with dead relatives in dreams or other ways. Here is some data from the respondents.
53% of Americans have had a deceased relative visit them in a dream or some other form.
- 34% have “felt the presence” of a dead relative
- 28% have told a dead relative about their life
- 15% have had a dead family member communicate with them
In total, 44% of Americans reported having at least one of these experiences in the past year. Interestingly, the study also found that women are more likely than men to have these kinds of supernatural interactions.
Are these authentic encounters or simply the longings of a grieving heart? So many questions.
I recently wrote a similar article on another platform and got some very interesting feedback.
here is a sampling:
My husband came back to tell me Heaven is better than we ever talked about, and we did wonder what it would be like! I saw him a total of two times and heard his voice distinctly calling me three times! He was the best guy and I miss him to this day! ~Sally
I heard my 12 yr old son calling me and he said “you know ” and continued talking as his voice faded away. Another time I saw him in church . like the photo negatives from years ago . He made sure that I knew that he was always around me, because I was a total mess after he passed from an unknown stomach virus ~Julia
“The Dead” are way more alive than us. They know a lot more than us as well. What a sad existence to believe that there was no point in life. That’s just sad. ~Kellyanne
I saw my grandpa after he passed. He was accompanied by a huge angel. He looked so healthy and happy. He just wanted to show me that he could walk and jump and had no more pain. Then the angel motioned to him and he said that he had to go. That today was his “orientation day”. It was amazing. Our conversation was all telepathic. There were no audible words

The dead are dead. They do not contact the living. Read the Bible or the Quran…… ~TopDawg
“There’s no true death, only a change of worlds” . We are all made up of energy and energy never ceases to exist it only transforms. THAT is science, however it is often called everlasting life. So whatever gives you the most comfort. ~Yolanda
Marilynn responded to Yolanda:
Yes~ and sometimes that persons energy finds a way to manifest on this plane again~ I believe you can have “contact “ with ones who have crossed
~Marilynn
Not to be brutal,or mean, but I’ve lost(no bullshit)150 people I loved with all my being. They never talk to or vice versa,I have accepted the fact they are gone and never coming back.My memories of them keep them alive and precious in my mind.I think that is a blessing in itself and am greatful for it.Otherwise I would have lost my mind completely. ~Dowd
Lastly:
You can have all the visions you want. Once your brain dies that’s it you are dead. Everything you experience is because of something that’s happening in your brain. No brain no existence. Zero credible evidence of any God or supernatural being. ~Dork
There is a broad range of thought on the hereafter. I guess we will all know someday. Or, maybe we won’t.
