The final show of Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour took place on December 8, 2024, at BC Place Stadium in Vancouver, Canada. This marked the conclusion of an incredible journey that spanned nearly two years and included 149 shows across 21 countries on five continents. To say that the performer and her army of Swifties are a cultural phenomenon would be an understatement.
Beyond the cultural impact, the tour’s financial effect has been staggering. While the total revenue generated in each host city is difficult to quantify, ticket sales provide a lens into the tour’s impact.
Some of the data from 149 sold out tour dates:
- $2,077,618,725 in ticket sales—that’ billion
- 10.1 million spectators
- The largest single show was in Melbourne, Australia with over 96,000
- There were 8 shows at London’s 90,000 seat Wembley Stadium—all sold out
- The average ticket price $204
- Second market tickets sold for thousands
To put the ticket sales numbers into perspective, the only other tour ever to eclipse $1 billion is Coldplay’s current Music of the Spheres tour. As of mid-December, they had generated $1.1 billion in revenue.
The Eras Tour movie became the most successful concert film of all time, grossing nearly $262M.
What will Taylor do for an encore?
